MatER Study Center organises its 4th Meeting on Innovations & Technologies in Waste Recovery. The event arises from the fundamental goal of MatER, that is providing a thorough, objective representation of technologies and policies for material and energy recovery from waste, thereby contributing to move toward sustainable waste management. The Meeting aims at being an update on latest trends in Sustainable Waste Management, dealing with regulatory, strategic and technical-scientific aspects. The event is organised by LEAP – Laboratorio Energia Ambiente Piacenza with the scientific support of DICA (Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering) and Energy Department of Politecnico di Milano.
The 3-days Meeting will comprise oral and poster presentations over these indicative subjects:
- Innovative Municipal Solid Waste treatment technologies
- Material and energy recovery from waste
- Biobased industry and residual valorization
- Environmental sustainability and circular economy
- Normative and economic framework
- Waste management and its sociological issues
According to the nature of the MatER Study Center, for the third day of the event we have been able to finalize a comprehensive technical visit that will both include a material recovery and an energy recovery from waste facility, thank to the collaboration with our industrial partner HerAmbiente.
On Wednesday May 29th, in the morning we will have the pleasure to be the first group to visit the new composting & biomethane production plant at Sant’Agata Bolognese (BO), while in the afternoon we will move to the Waste to Energy plant of Modena.
With the 4th edition of the conference it has been our ambition strengthening the link of the applied research with industry. For this reason we have set 2 twin calls, equally evaluated but addressed to two different bodies.
Independently from the type of call selected, submitted abstracts will be evaluated according to their innovation and scientific value and will be selected for presentation as oral communications or posters. All the works selected will be collected then in the proceedings of the Meeting and provided to all participants.
